For our bedroom we were looking for a quality HDTV but did not want to make the space or $ sacrifice for a living room size HDTV (50+ inch or so). Found a few good deals but went with a 550$ Samsung LN22A650 LCD HDTV with red exterior, but it was on sale at Amazon for almost 20% off at 450$.

The biggest plus was the versatility with this unit. Along with the 720P HD Resolution it has plenty of outlets for audio, video, HDMI Input, Component, and especially PC Input. I have actually been using this as my computer monitor in addition to watching satellite and gaming with it. The touch of color adds style but does not go overboard. The fixed stand makes adjusting it difficult but you can find a good stable spot for it, or you can mount it somewhere.

A couple things. It took only a matter of days to ship with standard shipping, and has actually allowed me to pick up a few extra digital cable channels I did not have access to before. The best part though is that we bought it when the price dropped even further to 350$ and Amazon will honor the price change for you as it drops past it’s current price. The sound is a bit quiet but good quality and you can always have an extra speaker system hooked up as well. For a 22 inch HD Samsung quality TV, it is hard to beat a price under 500$.

Finally quality espresso makers have become reasonable to produce and sell. For a semi-automatic Espresso Machine it is hard to beat the peripherals on the Gaggia 35005 Carezza Espresso Machine. Good friend of mine is re-doing his house and was showing me some of the drills he was looking at to handle all the ensuing jobs. The final choice for a high end yet affordable Driver / Drill set was the 18 Volt Makita BDF452HW Compact Driver Drill Kit with a long lasting Lithium Ion Battery.

Our Electric Alligator Lopper made me think of the Toro Ultra 12 amp Electric Blower / Vacuum we got a few Fall’s ago. Both of them are extremely light and functional for their tasks.

Upon use you will notice how quiet this is compared to other gas-motored leaf blowers. Gas motored leaf blowers are also oily, carburetors leak, and the gas exhaust is not pleasant either. Those living around you will be pleased! Oil and gas of course are becoming more and more expensive so those residual costs are not a nice feature of gas blowers. Not to mention the Toro has more suction power than a gas blower. The only limiting factor is that you have a long cord you have to drag around the yard to keep your Toro Ultra plugged in.

Converting from blower to vacuum is done with the touch of a button on the Toro Ultra. Taking out the bag and emptying is a simple process. Toro Ultra also has a cast magnesium impeller for some bigger yard work that gets caught up like stones or sticks.

Best part is, instead of spending 300 bucks on a gas blower (like Echo), you are looking at under 100 bucks. Recently it went down on Amazon and is being sold for 69$ and free shipping. On eBay you can find Toro Ultra 12 Amp Electric Leaf Blowers for 40-50$! There is a bit of a fee for shipping to make it close to Amazon but it is something to consider. Register for eBay to save money if you have not already.

Black & Decker Best Electric Chain Saw Alligator Lopper 4.5 AMP

It always seemed like I could get more out of my Gas / Electric chain saws. Our Alligator Lopper though is such a trusty and handy tool that has taken over most of our yard jobs. If you are hacking down a thick tree a more traditional chain saw would be your best bet but you would be surprised at the power of the Black & Decker Alligator Lopper 4.5 Electric Chain Saw. Larger trees still are no problem and it cuts through a thick oak branch like butter.

Initially we had it ordered to try it out once it went under 100$ (normally it is 180$ but Amazon has it for 95$ and free shipping, basically 50% off). First impression upon wielding the Alligator Lopper was how light it was and that it is much more safe with the enclosed blades. My grandparents could use this chain saw! We have had a few chain saws dull their blades from hitting the ground or a rock when cutting trees close to the ground. This is definitely no worry with the Alligator Chain Saw because of how it is constructed, so you do not need to prop a tree up to cut it.

When ordering the Alligator Lopper it was clear right away it would be much easier to use than a traditional chain saw. It can just latch onto branches with it’s grasp, reach, and light weight. Much easier on the back after a day of yard working. There are no weather limitations since it is electric and you do not have to worry about gas. Also it is easy to just add oil while you are working; they suggest every 10 minutes but you can do a lot of trimming in 10 minutes.

Recently there have been 60-90$ Black and Decker Alligator Lopper Chain Saws spotted on eBay auctions. Shipping still needs to be considered into your price as amazon has the Black & Decker Alligator Lopper Chainsaw for 95$ and free shipping.

Delonghi CGH800-U Retro Panini Grill Recipe CGH800 Deals

A recent favorite purchase for this summer has been the Delonghi CGH800-U Retro Panini Grill for sandwiches, Panini, even meat / vegetables. First thing that caught my eye was that on eBay and Amazon, this Delonghi Panini Grill was 65% off it’s regular price. Also the near perfect reviews, and the ones that gave it a 4 rating were generally nitpicking.

The first few uses brought out what we had already assumed. The panini grill locks into place and puts a firm amount of pressure on the bread. Since it is not a flat top one would assume it does not heat evenly, but the pressure from the lock-down top makes up for this. Most of the negatives with other competitor panini grills like the George Foreman is that they do not put enough pressure on the bread, thus the insides are not being cooked as well as they could be (and the cooking temp is just not high enough), and the lack of pressure shows with the non existent grill marks on the bread most of the time.

Cleanup is simple with a wet wipe on the non stick area. A more intense washing is needed if you are grilling chicken or other meat on there. Cheese and other run on ingredients are easy to come off again because of the non stick. Not much comes out as once the sandwich is locked down from the top and your food does not relocate.

Like an oven, the Delonghi CGH800 Panini Grill has a light that flashes on once the ideal temperature is hit. Only a few minutes is needed to heat up as well. And with the dial you can change the temperature when you want to slow down / speed up the cooking. One confusing thing about the Delonghi Panini is that there is no off / on switch! So you are either going to have to unplug it straight from the wall or have it into a surge protector or something similar to just shut the power off, but it is a rare negative for this machine.

As stated above, the Delonghi CGH800 Retro Panini Grill went on sale as summer got near and we picked it up for 51$, which is 88$ off what it normally is at Amazon (140$). Plus Amazon FREE SHIPPING which is always a treat. A friend who had told us of the product found it on eBay for around 55$ just a bit earlier.
